How the cards came to be . . .
I absolutely love scrapbook paper - the paper but not scrapbooking. Don’t get me wrong, I admire those people who are scrapbook-making geniuses and their work is great, but that’s not me. I’m more of a photo album person. The paper used for scrapbooking, however, is too hard to resist. I used to buy some when I went into the craft store just because I liked the patterns and colours, never knowing what I would do with them. For someone who’s not into scrapbooking I had quite the collection of material. What an addiction to have.
I’m also quite artistic and crafty. I was raised that way and there was never really an option but try out different crafty things. My mother loved crafts and although I resisted at times I must admit having been bitten by the crafting bug somewhere along the way. In college, I studied art for two years without any intentions of pursuing it as a career. Creating art, much like crafting, is what I do when I want to relax.
Recently I was looking for some original Christmas cards and decided to make some instead when I couldn’t find anything I wanted. Three cards later and I was hooked. So I decided to turn into a paying hobby and voila White Dog Cards (and Art).
